Anderson Materials Evaluation (AME) has assisted many university and research institution researchers with their projects in scientific and engineering fields.  We have also worked with start-up companies set up by university researchers to commercialize their technology ideas.  Among our many analysis proficiencies, researchers most frequently employ our XPS surface analysis and thermal analysis capabilities.

Our broad range of materials experience has allowed our team of Ph.D. scientists to complement the work of researchers across many fields of academic study and research.  For example, in the medical field, we joined forces with university, research institute, and FDA researchers to analyze the surface chemistry of knee and hip explants to determine causes of failure due to wear and corrosion, contributing to efforts to improve implant patient outcomes. In the energy field, our team characterized the surface properties of catalysts to be used in green energy applications and photovoltaic materials.  We have also partnered with researchers interested in technology-industry research and development, analyzing thin films for semi-conductors, self-assembled monolayer organic coatings, and nanotubes and other nanotechnology applications, just to name a few.

AME has assisted its university partners with successful commercialization of developed products.  In one example, our team identified the cause of chemical breakdown in a newly developed, inexpensive medial sensor and suggested a new polymer encapsulation to prevent the problem, leading to a viable product affordable for disease diagnosis for billions of relatively poor people around the world.
