Manufacturing Equipment
Anderson Materials Evaluation, Inc. has solved numerous problems related to sensors on automated manufacturing systems, to conveyor belt materials, to motors and mechanical devices on production lines, to production furnaces, vacuum systems, cleaning systems, ion implantation and plasma treatment equipment, polishing systems, and electronics controllers. We have solved numerous problems with sensors on automated production equipment. We have measured the glass transition temperatures of elastomers used on conveyor belts and examined coatings and adhesives used with those conveyor elastomers. AME has examined the wear of ceramics in paper manufacturing lines. We have examined residues and deposits in cleaning systems. We established the cause of degradation of polymer parts of ion implantation systems. We examined polishing media and residues left in the polishing system and in downstream city drains. We solved problems with the cable harness of an automated sensing system.
Transportation and Shipping
AME has investigated materials problems of passenger train cars, ship engines, truck trailers, and passenger aircraft interiors. We have determined the cause of failure of large train disk brakes. We identified residues from train electric traction power systems. We discovered the cause of train window sealant failures and paint stains. We examined the surface treatments of engine bolts for marine use to qualify them and the failure of engine hoses. We have found the cause of corrosion in truck trailers and the failures of welds in an aluminum dump truck. We found the cause of corrosion in seat anchoring hardware and the cause of degradation of the plastic in food trays in passenger aircraft.
Water Pipelines, Treatment, and Irrigation
Anderson Materials Evaluation, Inc. has examined numerous problems in water pipelines, sewage systems, and in water treatment systems. We determined the cause of corrosion due to numerous internal and external causes in water pipes such as corrosive agents in the ground, problems with pipeline materials and coatings, and potable water chemistries. We have identified the source of residues in sewar systems downstream from manufacturing facilities. We have characterized and verified materials for filtering water in water purification systems. We have examined the cause of corrosion in UV water treatment systems. AME has identified the source of contamination on water purity sensors that disabled them.
